  • The Royal George, Appledore. Located right over the confluence of the Rivers Torridge and Taw with wonderful views over the rivers, this family run, renovated pub served delicious food with a smile. 6 miles

  • The Flame Factory. Appledore. On the Quay, family run, fabulous pizzas and top quality burgers or steaks from locally reared beef. Takeaway as well as eat in. 6 miles

  • The Farmers Arms, Woolsery. Worth the drive. Stunninly renovated village pub serving high quality, innovative food in the restaurant; fish and chip takeaway. Attention to detail is superb. Excellent service. Unusual menu, not suited to young families but dog friendly. 9 miles

  • The Thatched Inn, Abbotsham. Local village pub, modern pub grub menu, Sunday Carvery. 3 miles (Dog Friendly bar)

  • Hoops Inn, Horns Cross. Traditional thatched pub with roaring fires. Good menu using locally sourced ingredients. 4 miles (Dog Friendly)

  • The Seagate, Appledore. Recently taken over by Youngs Brewery. Typical pub food and real ale. Gets busy, plenty of outdoor seating (Dog Friendly bar where you can eat food). 6 miles

  • The Boathouse Restaurant, Instow. ALso Youngs Brewery. Fabulous roof terrace with sunsets. Very busy restaurant and bar with great views over the River Torridge. Typical pub food and real ale. 6 miles

  • Instow Arms, Instow. Next door to The Boathouse. Well stocked bar and good home cooked food ranging from light bites thru main menu to Sunday roast. Very friendly staff. 6 miles (Dog Friendly).

  • The Royal Plaice, Appledore. Smart Fish and Chips restaurant with a range of fish and pub across the road. Also does takeaways. 6 miles

If you are looking for a top end chef restaurant, North Devon has a few very good ones. We can heartily recommend Michelin Starred Masons Arms, Knowstone; Thomas Carr 1873, Ilfracombe; Number Eight, Bideford, Bideford.
